Mission accomplished... 09/28/2009
21 miles of dirt (mud) roads 29 miles of very muddy trails 11 hours and 40 minutes of running, sliding, walking and finally finishing just before the 12 hour cutoff. After that, darkness takes over and they come and get you...I started at 6:40 am in the rain and finished with my "pacer" Philippe Charest who took me home for the last 10 miles at around 6pm...under trail conditions that i wish i could explain better ---so horrendous they were... It really was unbelievable...but all you were very present with me so we got through it with a huge smile and only a few bruises...;) Now, about your generosity : --- FYI--- Out of about 700 fundraisers, we finished as "TOP FUNRAISER" for the organisers of the Vermont 50 with close to $3000 going to their organisation...to put it in perspective, the second one finished with $1100...Well done to all of you .... And all together ---we ---you -- have raised close to 25 thousand dollars so far and i am expecting the members of the celiac foundation (all 2300 of them) to provide the balance of the 25k to have us reach the 50 thousand dollar mark sooner or later....so mission accomplished to all of you as well... WE DID IT... I will try to come up with a better description of this wild experience soon....so stay tuned and come back to "ultragiving"....'cause ultragiving never ends.... cheers gp Comments10/03/2009 14:12

Thank YOU for the inspiration --the entire ROTH team...without your vision, dedication and compassion, none of this would be really worthwhile...and don't count your chips just yet...we're not done....
